Homemade almond milk

So in our bid to be more healthy over at ne veggie hq we have been using almond milk rather than cows milk, I had seen various methods of making your own almond milk online so thought I'd give it a shot.

The results are a creamy milk with a more nutty almond taste than store bought.

If you have the time and can find cheap almonds (I got mine at the poundland) this is a great little money saver.

Ingridients

1 cup sweet almonds
2 1/2 cups water
2 dates (to sweeten)

Place the almonds in a bowl and cover with 1 1/2 cups of warm water, leave to soak over night.

The next day put the almonds and the water plus the remaining cup of water and the dates into a blender.

Blend for 1 minute in high, then pour out into a sieve over a large bowl.

Press the pulp until all the liquid is released. Then pour the liquid into a bottled.

From what I've read online it will keep in the fridge for 3-4 days, this batch has  nearly gone so there's no chance of it going off.

Enjoy!
